Socket caps have a small cylindrical head with tall vertical sides. Allen (hex socket) drive is a six-sided recess for use with an allen wrench (Allen key).
The shape of the screws prevent them from falling out and loss. For fixing protective and inspection covers that are frequently installed and removed.
